Tree Planting Season of 2018_2019 Launched

The Division is responsible for facilitating the integration of environmental considerations into public and private sector projects, programs and plans through the use of environmental assessment and environmental auditing. Specifically, the Division:

•     Administers the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process as outlined in the Environment Management Act {EMA), 1996;

•     Advises developers on the EIA requirements that are applicable in Malawi;

•     Reviews EIA reports,

•     Issues EIA certificates

•     Monitors projects for compliance to EIA approval conditions.

•     Conducts      environmental       inspections      to     ensure    compliance      to environmental quality standards and

•     Regulates the management of waste in the country.
